Anyway, here's the USA Canon site with the 5 downloadable Picture Styles. I haven't tried it yet. Weird thing is they offer you 5, but can only upload 3 at a time to your camera, at least for the 30D that is the case. In case you are wondering Canon has detailed instructions as to how to upload the settings to your camera. It is fairly easy; you will need EOS Utility. Enjoy! http://www.usa.canon.com …turestyle/file/index.html 'Ne nuntium necare' 'We are building a fighting force of extraordinary magnitude. We forge our traditions from the spirits of our ancestors. Checkout the page my friend and see. Also I would like to remind everyone or point out these of course only applies to JPEG shooters. RAW files save the Picture Style data, but it is not applied. Thanks. 'Ne nuntium necare' 'We are building a fighting force of extraordinary magnitude. We forge our traditions from the spirits of our ancestors. No, but you can use DPP, read the page and you will see a link to 'How to apply Picture Styles to pictures in Software'. It will show you step by step with screen shots. Yep, the MK3 has Picture Styles, but again it only works if you shoot JPEG or RAW + JPEG. 'Ne nuntium necare' 'We are building a fighting force of extraordinary magnitude. It comes free with the 40D at the moment but im sure it will be available to download soon. And totally pointless if you are shooting RAW as most of us do. Dave. Today I want to share with you a little known feature that makes it easy to apply “filters” in-camera to get a creative look.
Whether you prefer vivid colors, softer pastel hues or black and white, Picture Controls (Nikon) and Picture Styles (Canon) give you the ability to “edit” your images beforehand and without an extra step.
A couple things to keep in mind…
- Picture Controls/Styles are applied to JPEG images, so the image quality has to be set to either JPEG or RAW+JPEG.
- Once a JPEG photo has been taken with a certain Picture Control/Style, you can’t go back and reverse it to something else. So if you shoot a JPEG photo in black and white, it will be black and white forever. I recommend shooting in RAW+JPEG, that way you have a RAW image that retains the color in case you want to reverse it later on.
If you’ve played with Picture Controls/Styles recently, I’d love to see them. You can post your photos to my Facebook page.
